Antwerp is one of the best cities for some weekend shopping. Apart from the large variety in fashion, diamonds and chocolate stores, there are also many cosmetics shops.
As a beauty blogger who studied for years in Antwerp, I can tell you where to find all your favourite stores and brands in Antwerp and also tell you about some stores that you can only find in Belgium while you are at it.
1. Kruidvat (De Keyserlei 50, Beddenstraat 2, Meir 21)
- the largest drugstore in Belgium after Di
- Rimmel, Maybelline, L'Oreal, Essence, Catrice, MaxFactor, Bourjois, Essie
- has all the different beauty supplies and accessories
There are at least four Kruidvats in Antwerp: near the station on Keyserlei 50, on the Meir 21, inside the 'Boerentoren', the tower at the end of the Meir on the firt floor, Beddenstraat 2 and behind the station in Beddenstraat 2.
2. Ici Paris (Meir 103, Huidevettersstraat 53, Beddenstraat 2)
- high end make up brands (Dior, Guerlain, Yves Saint Laurent, Clarins, Clinique, Helena Rubinstein, Lancôme)
- high end care (Biotherm, Helena Rubinstein, Clinique,...)
- perfume
- quality beauty accessories like Tweezerman
Ici Paris can be found in the tower Boerentoren on the ground floor Beddenstraat 2, in the large turn of the Huidevettersstraat 53 and on Meir 103.
3. MAC (Schrijnwerkersstraat 21)
A small MAC store where you can find fine brushes, foundation, lipstick, etc. ...
4. Body Shop (Meir 8 and in the tower at Beddenstraat 2)
For your dose of shea butter, cocoa butter and passion fruit lip balms. Funny, I just spotted some Chinese tourists, men, in a Body Shop, and I think they were buying gifts for the folks at home, because they bought almost 200 euros worth of strawberry lip balms in one go!
7. Inno (Meir 80)
Inno is a departement store for clothes and make up. It brings together drugstore brands and high end makeup. Drugstore makeup is more expensive at Inno. Inno sells Benefit, if you are looking for this brand. It also sells beauty accessories, perfume, soaps, makeup remover, face and body care, etc...
8. Yves Rocher (Grand Bazar, Beddenstraat 2 and inside the Central station)
For more naturel cosmetics, visit Yves Rocher on the ground floor in the tower at the end of the Meir. The makeup isn't very expensive and comes in natural shades. They also sell perfumes, bath beads, solid soap, shower gels, natural self tanner, natural lipsticks, lip balms, exfoliants, etc. ... all in different lines of flowers such as lilacs, lily of the valley and monoi flower. You can also find real Tahiti oil there.
9. Essenza (Grand Bazar, Beddenstraat 2)
Essenza sells everything from china to chocolate covered almonds. It makes a great gift store. They sell esential oils and diffusers to go with them, relaxation cd's, supplements, natural beauty brands like Burt's Bees, Hairplus, De Tuinen, Dr. Organic and Dr. Van Der Hoog, Yes, ... They also sell scented candles and interior oils, creams for feet, face care, hair care, body care, honey, massage oils, insence and burners, candles, cherry pit pollows, teddy bears, a nice selection of bath beads, chocolate and other Belgian delicacies, tea, baskets and much more. Warning, their name will soon change to Holland & Barrett.
10. Iu (Meir 20)
Iu is great for alternative beauty brands that situate between drugstore and high end. It's like the pharmacy for beauty. You can find baby products, face care, body care, hair care, supplements for vitality, some makeup brands like Deborah, Caudalie, Nuxe, T. Leclerc. Other brands are La Roche, Avène, Eucerin, Vichy, Mustela.
11. ProDuo (Italiëlei 197)
If you're looking for quality hair products like L'Oreal Professional, Schwarzkopf Professional, etc., a quality hairbrush or straightener, or tools to dye your hair or to remove dye, you can visit ProDuo an the large avenue between the Central Station and the Meir.
12. Cosmeticary (Huidvettersstraat 38)
Hidden in a gallery in the Huidvettersstraat, Cosmeticary sells some hard to find beauty brand like Bobbi Brown, Bumble and Bumble and By Terry.
13. Bobbi Brown (Korte Gasthuisstraat 43)
