Maybelline Colour Whispers | Swatch and Review

Hi loves, how has everyone been? Sorry for my lack of posts, I've been dying to blog but just didn't have an opportunity to do so. Since I've kept you waiting long enough, I will get straight into it. Today I will be showing you swatches and reviewing the new Maybelline Colour Whispers that recently hit the shelves in Australia. I picked up most of mine from Priceline during their amazing 50% sale that they recently had (I now have a hole in my wallet where my money used to be!)

The Colour Whispers come in a total of eight shades and they come in pretty plums, bright pinks and sheer oranges. I picked up the shades: Who Wore it Red-er, Mad for Magenta, Pink Possibilities, Lust for Blush and Oh La Lilac (Not in the same order shown below)
These lip butters retail at Priceline for $14.95 but during half price sale, they dropped to about $7.90, how crazy is that? So when I found about the sale, I had to give these new lippys a try. I have heard many YouTube Gurus and Bloggers talk about these lip butters and was always so intrigued in their colour selection and packaging. The packaging itself is a plus for me because its sturdy and also it's really small and can thrown straight into your bag.
So from left to right we have -

1. Mad for Magenta
2. Pink Possibilities
3. Lust for Blush
4. Who Wore it Red-er
5. Oh La Lilac

In comparison to the Revlon Lip Butters, I much prefer the Colour Whispers because of the texture and consistency. I like how easy it glides onto my lips and how moisturising it is after I applied it. Although the colour selection of the Revlon Lip Butters has much more variety, I believe the Colour Whispers has decent colours that would suit any girl. There is a slight scent to these lippys which is blended with a mix of florals and .. sweet fruits (not the best description haha!) But either way, I don't mind the scent, it fades away after you've applied it to your lips but if you're someone who hates scents on products, then maybe this lip butter isn't the one for you but I think they smell fine. The pigmentation of these are quite sheer depending on which colour. The shades Lust for Blush, Oh La Lilac and Pink Possibilities are sheer on my lips since my lip colour is already pink-ish. The colour still shows but it looks like a 'My Lips but Better' sort of finish, especially Lust for Blush.

On the other hand, Who Wore it Red-er and Mad for Magenta are my favourite colours out of the bunch because they're so beautifully pigmented and look amazing on the lips. The colours are vibrant and the texture is smooth and glides on exactly like a lip balm which is what I think Maybelline was aiming for. The colours are so rich and creamy but the downfall is, is that it will melt in your bag if you leave somewhere really warm or leave it in the heat. But other than that, it is greatly pigmented, amazing consistently and is very light-weight.
Here are some swatches and as you can see, Mad for Magenta and Who Wore it Red-er are much more pigmented than the other colours but I can't blame them as they're darker colours. I have to say, all the shades are lovely and I would definitely pick up more shades if they came out with more! I really like all the colours and I absolutely love this product.

I would really recommend this if you are just starting out with make-up and just wanna perk up your lips with a little colours, check these out at your closest Priceline, Big W, Chemist Warehouse etc.

Well you guys, I'm at the end of my post! I hope you guys enjoyed and thank you for taking the time to read. You're awesome!
